Researchers at SomaLogic - a privately-held protein biomarker discovery and clinical diagnostics company in Boulder, Colorado – discovered a blood protein signature for mesothelioma cancer that hastens the diagnosis of the disease. This could also mean earlier treatments that prolong the life of a mesothelioma patient, writes Pat Guth of Mesothelioma.com.

A press release issued by SomaLogic revealed that the researchers discovered “a total of 13 blood proteins linked to the disease that are even when it’s in its early stages. Because of this, these 13 blood proteins could be used to test those who are strong candidates for the disease because of previous asbestos exposure,” Guth writes.
