Asbestos could put you at risk of mesothelioma
Today’s news tackles the link between asbestos and mesothelioma, and how mesothelioma patients could foresee better chances of survival by rising T-cell counts after chemo.



In two-thirds of all mesothelioma cancer cases, the victims have one thing in common. At some point in their life, they were exposed to asbestos. Patients diagnosed with mesothelioma often either worked directly with products that contained asbestos, worked in an environment with a high probability of asbestos exposure, or lived with someone who carried asbestos fibers home from the workplace.

According to a recent study published at the British Journal of Cancer:
Mesothelioma patients whose T-cell counts bounce back quickly after a round of chemotherapy have a better chance of survival. They are also most likely to benefit from the addition of immunotherapy.
